A Friend of Dorothy

Black/gay young man losss ball in old white rich lady yard and they become friends and she gives him inheritance money to go to school. The acting here was really phenomenal. Really just whisks you away into their little world. There are only a few scenes, but you really fall for the characters. There are two ways to end a short well, the first is that you have fallen in love with the characters and want them to stay on screen and tell more of their story (this one). The other short success is when the bow is so beautifully tied at the end you just want to sit in silence and enjoy the gift that was the short (the singers). I didn't rate this higher because there was no sense of surprise or suspense, very predictable. But still great.
