My take
I think this is the perfect version of the sentimental movie. It doesn't feel like a normal (based on the ones I've seen so far) Oscar Best Pic winner. But I like that. It's kind of as if a super hero movie won. You might not say it fits with the others but the best version of a super hero movie could and should be able to win. This story of true family was beautiful. And what I loved about it was that the happy family was the one that still struggled and overcame something. It wasn't a family falling apart that is pulled back together. Felt like a streaming movie, but again the best version of it. Cinematography was kind of dull. But the performances of the core family was spectacular. I'd recommend this for any feel good needed moment.
