My take
So much to recognize in this movie. From the opening credits about the Great Recession, to the town it begins in just north of my parents' current Carson City home. To the landscape across Nevada that I drove with my dad after the funeral of his mom when my flight was cancelled. To the potato farm cellar storage and conveyor belt and semis. To the Yellowstone animals and streams like my favorite place for a long time at the foot of Dunanda Falls with the icy mist of the waterfall spraying above while laying in the warm water of the hot springs beneath. A religious gathering in the wilderness. The redwoods. The highway one Northern California coast. The pioneer references. A movie about the West. A movie about the West from the eyes of one of its trodden down.
