Metropolitan Daily: The Best Selections from the New York Times Column

A few years ago I subscribed to the NYT's daily morning email that's specifically about NYC. I love it so much and never miss one. I love each section from the general city-specific news story at the top, to the links, to the fun ending of a Metro Daily entry. I originally thought I'd read a few each night but then always was reading something else, so finally I just decided to take it on the train the last two days and cranked it out, often laughing out loud or smiling ear to ear on the train. Coincidentally the same day I finished this I was texting Christian McNamara (former Yale friend and boss) because he was "thanking" me for sending the Christmas card even though he said his wife now asked him "why don't we do cute things like this" and I sent him the emotional arch of Christmas cards (check the Apple Journal app). He laughed and said I should post it, but since I don't do social media, I thought oh hey with one tiny addition about NYC I could make this a Metro Daily submission. We'll see if it gets published at some point.
